SOLAR EVA^®

The basic devices for the photovoltaic energy conversion are semiconductive solar cells. Crystalline solar cells are breakable and sensitive against moisture and oxygen. To overcome those disadvantages and to achieve a long life time, it is essential to protect the solar cells against mechanical impact, moisture and oxygen and to use suitable electrical insulation. For the encapsulation of solar cells on the one hand glass is used but on the other hand more and more polymeric materials are applied.
SOLAR EVA^® generates a plastic density and works as a shock absorber for the brittle, break sensitive crystalline solar cells. It also works as an adhesive and as a sealant for layers.
